Neuropathy

Neuropathy basically means a nerve is not functioning correctly. This usually results in symptoms such as pain (which can be dull or sharp), burning sensations, tingling, and/or numbness. Neuropathy is most commonly felt in the hands and feet, but can be felt elsewhere in the body. Damage to a nerve can happen in a variety of ways, but some common causes include: diabetes, chemicals used in chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, the nerve being pinched as with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, or even the nerve being entrapped in an injured muscle.

For all the reasons mentioned above,  you want a Physician with the knowledge and experience to determine what is causing your symptoms and the skills to effectively treat it. As Blount county’s only Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Williams is uniquely qualified to treat the various causes of neuropathy. He has developed very effective treatment protocols for diabetic neuropathy which, in most cases, has either completely resolved or greatly lessen the pain and numbness patients are experiencing. Call the office today for an evaluation of your neuropathy symptoms.
